Offline video is useful on trips, on unreliable connections, or when you want study material without depending on one app. The important part is not just pressing download—picking the right format and size makes watching much more comfortable.
Before you start
Make sure the video is public and that you are allowed to save it. Links that require a login, subscription, or DRM protection cannot be processed. Copy the link directly from the app or browser, not from a search results page.
Check the duration. donlodvideo allows standard downloads up to three hours, while 4K and 1440p formats are limited to 60 minutes and 5 GB per file.
Steps to save a video
- Paste the link into the field on the home page, then choose Analyze Video.
- Wait for the metadata. You will see the title, duration, source, and format list.
- Choose the Video + Audio tab if you want the picture too.
- Pick a quality from the resolution list. Displayed sizes are estimates.
- Press Download Now and wait until the status is ready.
- On the ready page, press Save to Device. The download begins only after that click.
Pick a sensible size
For a phone screen, 720p is often enough. Full HD laptops and TVs are usually comfortable with 1080p. 1440p and 2160p add more detail, but need more storage and a device that supports codecs such as HEVC, VP9, or AV1.
If you only want the audio, choose the Audio only tab. MP3 at 128 kbps saves space, 192 kbps is balanced, and 320 kbps suits music or recordings where you want to preserve quality.
After the file is saved
Give the file a searchable name and move it to a dedicated folder. Temporary files are removed from the donlodvideo server 30 minutes after they are ready, so keep a copy on your device. Secure download links last 10 minutes and support limited resuming.
Finally, respect copyright. Saving a video for personal use is different from redistributing it without permission.
